Felton Bookbinding has been doing exceptional custom bindings and slipcases for The Great Republic since we opened our first retail space. I’ve known Keith Felton for over 20 years, and I’ve come to the conclusion that he and his team are the best bookbinders in North America. There is no other bookbinding company that I would trust with the restoration and presentation of our rare book offerings. They are simply the best, artisans of a craft that is slowly being lost with the passage of time.

Dear Keith
I’d like to thank you again for all the fine work on Sleeping Bear Press products for the last couple of years. Our customers always appreciate the outstanding craftmanship and appealing designs of the books. They make either truly beautiful collector’s pieces or gift items which are unique and timeless.
I also would mention that your personal attention to our projects always seems to assure that they go well and are delivered on time as promised. I could only wish that all of our suppliers were as reliable, both in terms of quality and service.

Dear Keith,
I am writing to express my thanks and appreciation for the extraordinary effort which you made to repair and reback the volumes needed for our exhibition. The turnaround time was most impressive and certainly helped us to mount the exhibition on schedule.
I would also like to take this opportunity to commend you on the excellent restoration and rebinding work which you have done for us. Your sensitivity to the period binding requirements of our books and the skill revealed by your excellent workmanship is truly remarkable.
You might be interested to know that samples of the work which you do for us are displayed on the Library’s web site as an example of the contribution and support which the Friends of the Library give to our binding and restoration projects. With many thanks again.

Master binder Keith Felton and his artisans are world class. Talent, innovation, trustworthy, dedication, personable… words that readily spring to mind when thinking of Felton Bookbinding.
ANTARCTICA, our project was massive in its scale — 1000 copies of a hand-bound full-leather 27-pound tome. We searched the globe for a bindery that could handle such a challenge. Having invested two years working with several binderies on prototypes, Felton won our respect and the contract. Several years later, our edition complete, we gratefully thank Felton Bookbinding for their major contribution in helping us to fulfill our dream.
Truly it has been a pleasure to work with Felton, a firm where the highest standards humanly possible are consistently reached.
We are honoured through this business relationship to have become personal friends with Keith and his master binders.
Sincerely,
Steve Juskewycz

Keith and Chris: I received the Darwin volumes today. They are absolutely incredible. You have outdone yourselve this time. Thank you.
David Walters
Mr Felton,
My name is David Walters. My father, Stanley Walters, sent you a small volume, Souter’s Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament, for rebinding recently. I received it today.
It is so beautiful I nearly wept. You will understand that it was already something I deeply value. Dad gave it me. He used it for years, it was worn with much use, and precious to me for those reasons alone. It has come back into my hands considerably more elegant than before, fit for another lifetime of service. You even recovered and included Dad’s original bookplate. It is a joy to see, a delight to handle, and lays open on the table beautifully.
Thank you so much for the care taken, and for the quality of the skill and craftsmanship evident what you have done. Your work is outstanding.
Kindest Regards,
Randy B., Texas
Hi Keith,
I just got in and opened the box. It looks GREAT! I’m very impressed with the work, and I so, so appreciate your patience in hanging on to the Bible and getting this done for me. I’ll be recommending you to friends, and I’m sure I’ll be back to you with more projects myself.
Thanks again for everything, Keith, and best wishes for a super 2010.

They are absolutely beautiful. I find they are best read in front of a roaring fire with a small glass of good whiskey. My family wanted to know why they didn’t get a copy for Christmas … I gave them your phone number.
Thank you very much.

Just wanted to drop you this quick note to say thank you, thank you, thank you for doing such a wonderful job restoring my father’s leather bound Masonic book. It looks beautiful. I’ll cherish it for many years to come and am sure to recall my many memories of my father whenever I read it. Your service was amazingly quick as well.
